Background

"Total FM Solutions: Mapping Customer's Aspirations in a Changing World" is a project initiated and administered by the Hong Kong Institute of Facility Management (HKIFM) in collaboration with the Department of Real Estate and Construction of the University of Hong Kong (HKU).  The project is funded by the Commerce, Industry and Technology Bureau (CEDB) of the Government of the HKSAR under the Professional Services Development Assistance Scheme (PSDAS).  The Department of Construction Management of Tongji University (Tongji) and Chongqing University (Chongqing), are the implementing partner of this project.

 Objective

The aim of the project is to expand the market opportunities and develop the professional skills of facilities managers in Hong Kong. The enhancement of knowledge of facilities managers through this project is particularly important to:

  • To enhance the competitiveness and standard of professional services of facility managers in the FM profession, especially the use of total FM solutions in response to the increasing customer’s aspirations expand the market opportunities for FM in Mainland China and in the region

  • To improve the connection and expand the market opportunities for FM in Mainland Chinaexchange and enhance the professional skills of facilities managers to increase competitiveness

  • To study the current status and future trend of FM development, both in Hong Kong and in Mainland China

  • To increase the awareness of property and facility managers on the opportunities and entry to the emerging FM profession

Activities

A series of Conferences and Technical Visits will be conducted to promulgate the knowledge and skills of FM in the Mainland China.
