The aim of our conference is to introduce BIM and how to use BIM with IT in practice. The event will be offering opportunities for FM professionals to understand more the concept of BIM and explore potentials of BIM in facilitating FM.  In addition, the conference will  provide platforms for exchanging and developing these ideas between all parties concerned.  This will also be one of the best avenues to promote the service of FM professionals in Hong Kong.

BIM presents opportunities for success and risk for the unprepared. It requires innovative thinking and creative approach of implementation in a field that erroneously thought that CAD was revolutionary. BIM is rapidly changing all phases of building services area, from creating virtual building models, to assisting in the success of integrated project delivery. While it may be argued BIM will become a de-facto standard, it cannot be ignored, and there remain many unanswered questions.
